Magnificent, elegant and unusual 19th century French gilt crested mirror.
It dates from around 1860
It has a huge, ornate real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso shell and floral crest and stunning gilt frame.
It also has its original beautiful heavy mercury glass which gives a reflection like no other and is so hard to find these days, with lots of lovely foxing.
It has its original pine backboards.
It would look superb on a mantelpiece, as a leaner mirror in a lounge or bedroom or hanging on a large wall.
It is in super condition.
