19th century French gilt and bare gesso mirror in excellent condition.
It is from the mid 1800s.
It has its lovely worn gilt and bare gesso frame in a soft cross design. You can see the reddish bole which was the clay preparation layer beneath the real gilt and then the bare gesso that was beneath the bole. This is a wonderful, softer alternative to an all gilt mirror.
It has its original heavy glass and all its original backboards.
