Stunning early19th century French oak wedding armoire in excellent condition.
It dates from around 1830.
These armoires were given to married couples on their wedding day for them to store all their beautiful monogrammed linen.
It has been stripped to reveal the natural grain and colour of the antique oak.
It has lots of gorgeous, hand carved detail including its lovely floral doors.
It has its 3 very thick original oak adjustable shelves and one has two drawers beneath.
It has its original iron hinges, escutcheons, draw handles and a lock and key.
For use as a wardrobe a hanging rail could be added beneath the top shelf, then the middle shelf could be removed and the shelf with the drawers could be moved down to the bottom. Please enquire.
